<p>Benzoic acid esters with 1,2-ethanediol and aminoethanol were synthesized by acylation of the hydroxyl-containing substrates. A peptide with L-tryptophan was obtained from 2-aminoethyl benzoate by the activated ester method. The prodrug suitability, acute toxicity, and specific biological activity of the obtained compounds were analyzed using computer prediction methods. The antifungal activity was experimentally assessed using the yeast fungus <i>Yarrowia lipolytica</i>. The antifungal activities of the synthesized benzoic-acid derivatives were comparable to and superior to that of benzoic acid.</p>
