Chemical Drugs for Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Elderly: the Utility Parameters
摘要
Pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic changes that occur in older adults adversely affect drug side effects and increase the risk of addiction. An elderly person is two to three times more likely than a young adult to experience an adverse drug reaction. Drug ineffectiveness, under-dosing, overdosing, inadequate monitoring, inadequate treatment, adherence, and drug interactions are among the various factors that contribute to side effects in the elderly. If these are not managed in a timely and careful manner, they can affect the safety and quality of life of older people. The elderly population is associated with several age-related health problems, including altered mental status, poor nutritional status, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, and loss of function of multiple organs. There are over 100 types of arthritis found in older people, and rheumatoid arthritis is one of them. This review includes an extensive discussion of the need, safety, and efficacy of drug molecules for rheumatoid arthritis problems in the elderly.
