Cytotoxic Activity of Acetone Extracts of Podophyllum peltatum L. Plant Organs and Cell Cultures in Relation to Normal and Tumor Cells
摘要
The resazurin test was used to show that acetone extracts of Podophyllum peltatum L. organs reduced the viability of rat fibroblasts by 33 – 39%; extracts of callus cultures of this plant, by 35 – 50%; and extracts of 14-d suspension culture at the maximum concentration, by 22%. The cytotoxic activity of the studied extracts for normal cells (rat fibroblasts) was 23% less than for HeLa tumor cells, which validated the potential of these extracts as medicinal plant raw material for producing drugs with antitumor activity.
