Unification of Methods for Determining the Authenticity and Ginsenoside Contents in Medicinal Products from the Roots of Panax ginseng C. A. Mey.

For the first time, a pharmaceutical substance of plant origin and a medicinal product based on Panax ginseng C. A. Mey. have been comprehensively standardized. The methods of identification by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) and quantitative determination of ginsenoside biologically active substances (BAS) by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in the specified medicinal products have been unified. Standards for the ginsenoside contents in the substance and a medicinal product based on P. ginseng have been proposed for subsequent inclusion in the corresponding pharmacopoeial monographs.
