摘要

In this study, the phenolic and chemical contents, physiological properties and biological activities of Origanum laevigatum Boiss (O. laevigatum) were determined. The chemical study revealed that the plant included vanillic, caffeic and hydroxybenzoic acids as well as resveratrol and phloridzin. The greatest concentration, 13.45%, was identified as Bicyclogermacrene using GC-MS. The maximum TAS (total antioxidant status) value in the essential oil was 8.609 ± 0.203 mmol/L. The plant’s essential oil, n-hexane and methanol extracts were all shown to be effective against bacteria between 25 and 100 μg/mL. The essential oil was also shown to be effective at 50 μg/mL, while ethanol and methanol extracts were found to be beneficial at 100–200 μg/mL against fungal strains. Depending on the concentration, the plant has been shown to have a potent antiproliferative effect.
