In-Vitro Antimicrobial Screening of Some 1-(2-((1H-Benzo[D]Imidazol-1-yl)Methyl)-5-Aryl-4,5-Dihydro-Oxazol-4-yl)Ethanones

摘要

1-(2-((1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)methyl)-5-aryl-4,5-dihydrooxazol-4-yl)ethanone derivatives were synthesized and screened for antimicrobial activity. The structures of the compounds were confirmed by elemental, IR, ¹H NMR, and mass spectral analysis. In vitro antimicrobial activity of the title compounds was screened against Gram-negative (P. aeruginosa & E. coli,) and Gram-positive (S. aureus & B. subtilis) bacteria and against fungi (C. albicans & A. niger). The results exhibited that all the title compounds showed good to moderate antimicrobial activities when compared with Streptomycin (antibacterial drug) and Amphotericin B (antifungal drug) respectively.
