<p>The purpose of this qualitative descriptive study was to explore how women pastors in the Southwestern United States described the influence of continuing pastoral education and mentorship on their long tenure serving a particular church. Analysis of the data affirmed and extended previous research on pastoral efficacy, women in leadership, and the importance of mentorship. Participants described their experiences with continuing pastoral education and mentorship as leading to greater resilience and confidence in their roles as pastors, which in turn resulted in longer tenure in their church. In addition, this study highlights the significance of a pastor’s resiliency, confidence, and long-term tenure in enhancing church vitality.</p>
