<p>Quantum efficiency measures the carriers generated for incident photons, elucidating valuable insight into carrier collection process and recombination dynamics. In a theoretical model of a high-efficiency thin-film solar cell resembling a real-world device, we examined design parameters to assess their influence on external quantum efficiency (EQE) characteristics. Using 1D numerical simulation, the design parameters were varied separately at a time, to simulate EQE plots and to assign EQE feature with their generating causes. This analysis helps to diagnose certain imperfections in the device by observing spectral shape of EQE plots.</p>
