Evolution characteristics of anomalous hollow Hermite vortex beam propagating through uniaxial crystals orthogonal to the optical axis

This paper studies the properties of a new vortex beam called an anomalous hollow Hermite vortex beam (AHHVB) through a uniaxial crystal orthogonal to the optical axis. A propagation formula for the corresponding beam in a medium of uniaxial crystal is obtained. Based on the derived formula, we conducted some graphical calculations to investigate the characteristics of the intensity of the received beam inside the uniaxial crystal. Our obtained results show that the propagation properties of the received intensity can be adjusted based on the uniaxial crystal parameter and the parameters of the incident beam. The uniaxial crystal can show its capability to modulate the intensity distributions for the AHHVB, which is advantageous for optical trapping and nonlinear optics.
