Spectroscopic insights: linear and nonlinear features and radiation protection competences of Y2O3 doped ZnPbSiO4 glasses
摘要
The following glass system 35Pb3O4- 60SiO2-(5-x) ZnO- xY2O3 (x = 0, 1, 2, 4, 5) mol.% is fabricated by the classic melt-quench method. Amorphous status was confirmed by XRD analysis techniques. Structure features were influenced by yttrium oxide doping like density(5.91 to 6.97 g/cm3), molar volume (47.39 to 41.22 cm3), oxygen packing density(17.88 to 14.99 cm3), internuclear distance and number of ions (0.69 to 3.7 × 1021). Linear and non-linear optical properties are taking place. The energy gap was found to be increased from 2.59 to 2.72 eV with supplying of yttrium ions until 5 mol.% while the index of refraction decreases from 2.55 to 2.51. The nonlinear susceptibility (χ(3)) and refractive (n2) index decrease with increased yttrium concentration and have the values 0.396 to 0.351
