Effect of helicity on the discrete instability of weak helimagnets
摘要
The properties of antisymmetric Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya (DM) interaction and helicity in a ferromagnetic spin chain system is studied. Propogation dynamics of discrete breathers (DBs) are investigated under the semi-classical limit. We employ boson mapping using the Holstein Primakoff representation to derive the nonlinear evolution equation of motion. We systematically investigate the potential for localized structures through a linear stability analysis employing the modulational instability condition. To assess both short-term and long-term dynamics under modulational instability, we conduct molecular dynamics numerical simulations. It has been shown that with DM interaction, the localization and the existance of DBs favours left handedness in a helimagnetic system.
