A chiral active particle on two-dimensional random landscapes: ergodic uncertain diffusion and non-ergodic subdiffusion
摘要
The dynamics of a chiral active particle moving on two-dimensional random landscapes (with Gaussian distribution and Gaussian correlation) is investigated. We demonstrate that the ergodic uncertain diffusion and the non-ergodic subdiffusion occur in the system. The ergodic uncertain diffusion arises from the periodic motion of the chiral active particle along a circular trajectory. In contrast, the non-ergodic subdiffusion is primarily caused by the competitive effect between local high heterogeneity due to random landscapes (or chirally induced rotational motion) and the self-propulsion of the active particle. Our work provides a theoretical basis for understanding the dynamic behavior of a chiral active particle in complex environments.
