Manufacturable Ti/ZrO2/Cu memristor-based synapses and biomimetic memory applications with circuit implementation

Memristors exhibit exceptional performance in human brain synaptic bionics, playing a crucial role in the development of neural morphological equipment with high integration density. In this work, a two-terminal Ti/ZrO2/Cu memristor device with highly reliable synaptic properties and stability is self-manufactured. Abundant dynamical behaviors are extensively investigated, leading to the successful synaptic functions emulations, including potentiation and depression, paired-pulse facilitation, short-term plasticity, and long-term potentiation. A hardware-connected biomimetic memory circuit, incorporating the manufacturable memristor-based array and field programmable gate array, is implemented to mimic the biomimetic memory processes, effectively replicating the functions of memory retention and forgetting.
