The coupling process of awareness and disease under the influence of information resources and medical resources

摘要

Effective disease prevention and control necessitate the judicious allocation of resources. In addition to medical resources, information also serves as crucial but invisible resources, and the sharing of such resources is paramount for disease control. In this paper, we construct a coupling model of awareness diffusion and disease transmission considering the influence of both information resources and medical resources. We build equations based on the microscopic Markov chain approach and derive the disease transmission threshold. Through Monte Carlo simulations, we find that incorporating information resources can improve disease control and they should not be disregarded. Both information resources and medical resources exhibit a strong inhibitory effect on disease, and a higher utilization rate of resources leads to a more significant inhibitory effect on disease. Medical resources have a greater inhibitory effect on disease compared to information resources. Furthermore, individuals with a higher capacity to comprehend and assimilate information resources are more adept at safeguarding themselves. When the recovery from disease heavily relies on medical resources, the higher the willingness of healthy individuals to donate, the better the control of the disease. Our results can provide a valuable reference for managers in information resources sharing, allocation of medical resources and disease control.
