<p>The latest earthquake swarms in the Aegean Sea (Greece), which started in January 2025 and lasted for nearly two months, put the civil protection mechanism of the country under pressure and caused stress to the inhabitants and visitors of Santorini and the neighbouring islands. Multiple earthquakes caused landslides that affected the transportation network of the island of Santorini. There was no volcanic eruption or tsunami occurrence, but given the geology and the historical record, this multi-hazard scenario cannot be ruled out. This <i>Letter to the Editor</i> points out the strong and weak points of the response to these events and suggests meaningful research directions, mainly related to the analysis of multi-vulnerability, which are considered necessary for the reduction of risk in a multi-hazard environment.</p>
