Pediatric Autoimmune Encephalitis: Clinical Assessment by a Psychiatrist
摘要
We present here the clinical case of a nine-year-old female patient with a seronegative variant of autoimmune encephalitis (AE). Published data point to particular difficulty in verifying cases of autoimmune encephalitis in childhood and lack of accuracy of existing expert criteria. The clinical picture of AE is polymorphic and variable; it includes neurological and psychiatric syndromes in different proportions; cases with a predominance of mental disorders with a relapsing course have been described. Research into this category of patients by psychiatrists is difficult because of the rarity of the pathology, which results in different routing of patients, in the overwhelming majority of cases to somatic hospitals of infectious, neurological, or oncological profile.
