<p>This article presents an analysis of the current literature on the etiology and pathogenesis of genomic imprinting disorders such as Angelman and Prader–Willi syndromes. The mechanisms underlying the development of sleep disorders associated with these syndromes, which arise from the impaired expression of certain genes, are examined in detail. Particular attention is paid to current treatment options for sleep disorders in Angelman and Prader–Willi syndromes, and their effectiveness and potential for clinical application are demonstrated.</p>
