<p>The key role of the kidneys in the sensory analysis of human blood and automatic (reflex) reactions consisting of secretion of physiologically active substances to maintain homeostasis, which is necessary for effective brain function, is substantiated. A new unconditioned reflex promoting homeostasis and ensuring rapid restoration of blood composition after drinking liquids and eating food is characterized.</p>
