Memory and Time
摘要
This review, based on our own and published data, analyzes the time course of the formation of long-term memory, the duration of consolidation and reconsolidation processes, the time parameters of interactions between glial and neuronal elements of neural networks, and possible mechanisms of neuroglial interactions. The analysis provides grounds for proposing an explanation of the duration of the consolidation and reconsolidation period of long-term memory (4–6 hours) in terms of the need for the glial environment to contribute to local epigenetic changes in the expression of plasticity genes in the neurons of memory engrams.
