Anxiety Disorders as Comorbid States in Psychoneurological Disorders in Children
摘要
This article addresses variants of heterotypic comorbidity of anxiety disorders (AD) with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorders, speech development disorders, specific learning disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), migraine, and tension headache in children and adolescents. In cases of heterotypic comorbidity, emotional problems can be the primary reason for patients with AD to seek help from specialists. Meanwhile, the combination of AD with these disorders leads to aggravation of their clinical manifestations and worsening of prognosis; anxiety symptoms often not only persist, but also become more severe with age. It should be noted that AD in children with neuropsychic developmental disorders contribute to decreases in the quality of life and academic failure; they have adverse impact on peer relationships and the family environment; in young adulthood, patients have an elevated risk of developing depression and substance abuse. Thus, early intervention and a comprehensive therapeutic approach with dynamic assessment of the patient’s condition are of great importance. When selecting pharmacotherapy, drugs with complex effects on the pathogenetic mechanisms of the underlying disorder and the concomitant anxiety disorders such as Tenoten for children should be chosen.
