Climate change is threatening the lives of various species, ecosystems, and even some climate-sensitive business operations. The nascence of it lies in the discharge of various Greenhouse Gases, amongst which carbon dioxide plays the protagonist character. Around 8% of the world’s carbon is discharged due to the cement industry, making it a substantive source of carbon emissions, owing to this, the current study tries to find out the different decarbonization measures available for the cement industry through a systematic literature review and prioritize the measures based on their weights using AHP analysis by conducting a survey of 16 technical experts in cement industry working for sustainability. Articles are spotted through Scopus with the criteria of including only those articles that relate to the measures and techniques for decarbonizing the cement industry till 2023 to provide recent updations in the measures. The results identified the following 10 decarbonization measures for cement manufacturing: material efficiency, energy efficiency, fuel switching, Carbon capture Utilization and storage (CCUS), digitalization, electrification, construction efficiency, circularity, managerial measures, and behavioral measures. It has been found through the AHP analysis that material efficiency is at the highest priority followed by fuel switching and Circularity. Moreover, material substitution, use of the best available technology, and recovery of used material are the top three priorities in the sub-measures based on global ranking.

摘要
