<p>Contemporary investigations and the development of new measuring instruments in the microwave frequency range require the creation of special metrological-grade measuring equipment with dynamic measurement ranges greater than 100 dB and the possibility of adjusting the output power. VECTOR-series frequency-range converter modules for the vector network analyzers are developed and produced. The VECTOR frequency-range converter modules operate in the following frequency ranges: 50–75, 53.57–78.33, 75–110, 78.33–118.1, 110–170, and 118.1–178.4 GHz. The structural scheme of the developed frequency-range converter modules is described. These modules guarantee the possibility of shifting the upper bound of the operating frequency range of the vector network analyzer in the case of its application for measuring complex transmission and reflection coefficients (elements of the scattering matrix) of multiport devices. The vector network analyzer, together with connected frequency range converter modules, form a&#xa0;unique measurement system. The investigations of the characteristics of VECTOR-series frequency range converter modules demonstrate that the VECTOR modules designed for the frequency ranges 50–75, 75–110, and 110–170 GHz have typical output powers and dynamic working ranges equal to 15 dBm (31.6 mW) and 125 dB; 11 dBm (12.6 mW) and 120 dB, and 1 dBm (1.3 mW), and 110 dB, respectively.</p><p>The developed frequency range converter modules are compatible both with the Russian vector network analyzers and with their foreign analogs produced by the Rohde&amp;Schwarz GmbH&amp;Co KG (Munich, Germany) and Keysight Technologies (Santa Rosa, USA) firms. The comparative analysis of the frequency range converter modules considered in the present work with the WR15VNA-series converter modules produced by the Virginia Diodes firm (Charlottesville, USA) and the 3643NA-series modules produced by the Ceyear Technologies firm (Qingdao, China) shows that, in terms of the output power and dynamic measurement range, the developed devices are not inferior to the characteristics of foreign analogs. Among the main fields of application of the vector network analyzers equipped with frequency range converter modules, we can mention the problems of testing, tuning, and development of various radio-frequency devices under the conditions of commercial production and under laboratory conditions, including their use in automated measuring stands.</p>
