<p>The reason for three subsequent revisions of the State verification schedule for instruments intended to measure the content of organic components in liquid and solid substances and materials was to improve the State primary standard of units of mass (molar) fraction and mass (molar) concentration of organic components in liquid and solid substances and materials based on liquid and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with isotope dilution and gravimetry. During each revision, the structure and information content of the current document were critically analyzed, and attempts were made to optimize the form and content of the State verification schedule and adapt them to the specifics of organic analysis. The historically established rules for developing verification schedules (in accordance with the Standards of the Russian Federation) are well suited for describing the transfer of units of physical quantities, but have significant gaps in terms of transferring units of the amount of substance. The paper contains an overview of the main changes that were introduced into the State verification schedule for means of measuring the content of organic components in liquid and solid substances and materials during the use and improvement of the State primary standard of units of mass (molar) fraction and mass (molar) concentration of organic components in liquid and solid substances and materials based on liquid and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry with isotope dilution and gravimetry from its inception to date. The paper also addresses the causes and consequences of the introduced changes. Special attention is paid to the role of the analyzed State verification schedule in ensuring the equivalence of measurements and in the formation of a&#xa0;chain of metrological traceability to a&#xa0;mole, which is one of the main units of the International System of Units (SI). The key role of the reference standards of composition of liquid and solid substances and materials for metrological support in the field of organic analysis was noted, along with the importance of harmonization of the domestic and international concepts of ensuring the equivalence of measurements. The obtained results of optimizing the State verification schedule for instruments intended to measure the content of organic components in liquid and solid substances and materials are useful for understanding of the specifics of organic analysis and certain features of metrological support of measurements in this area.</p>
