<p>The paper presents data on the production of ferroalloys worldwide and in the Russian Federation, as well as on the amount and type of their production waste. The mechanism of gas-and-dust mixture formation in ore-smelting electric furnaces is described, citing the main reasons affecting the amount and dust content of furnace gases. Data on the rational use of dust generated during the production of various types of ferroalloys are provided.</p>
