<p>The possibilities of protective electric arc coatings use on machine parts and structures to improve their operational characteristics, reduce metal consumption, and renew of worn parts are analyzed. The influence of the properties of electrode materials and different alloying systems on the characteristics of the obtained coatings is shown. The effectiveness of the composite coatings formed from two dissimilar wires—powder and solid—is confirmed. Modern tendencies in the development of the electric arc method are studied.</p>
