<p>The features of the chemical and phase composition, structure, and transformations in boride inclusions of 04Kh14T3R1F steel used for the manufacture of hexagonal pipe covers for transportation and storage of spent nuclear fuel are studied. During hot deformation, such phase and structural transformations occur: change of borides composition due to the redistribution of elements; dynamic diffusion fragmentation and release of “satellite” particles; fracture of borides, and boride phase transformation. The possibility of borides static diffusion fragmentation at high heating temperatures is demonstrated. The influence of boride inclusions on the structure and mechanical properties of the steel at different deformation temperatures is discussed.</p>
