Justification of the structural strength of a connection of a steelhead and a carbon-plastic pump rod

The peculiarities of the stress-strain state of hybrid pump rods (with a carbon fiber core and a fiberglass shell) for oil production are considered. The design of the connection of the steelhead with the body of the hybrid rod was proposed. The finite element method was used to analyze the stress in the rod elements connection under bending and tensile loading. It was established that the stresses are three times lower than the ultimate strength. The structural design of carbon-plastic rods connection with steel heads is recommended for use in the oil production process.
