Thermal behavior, crystal structure, spectroscopic and biological studies of novel Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes with indomethacin
摘要
Three metal complexes with indomethacin (Hind), a popular nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with the formulae: Co(ind)2(H2O)4·H2O (1), Ni(ind)2(H2O)4·H2O (2) and Cu2(ind)4·(EtOH)2 (3), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR spectroscopy. The crystal structure of 2 and 3 was determined by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The central atoms are coordinated by deprotonated indomethacin through carboxylate groups in two various modes. In 3, the typical dinuclear Cu–Cu paddle-wheel structural motif is observed. The powder X-ray diffraction data indicate that 1 and 2 are isostructural. For all complexes, TG/DTG/DTA analysis augmented by MS system was performed. Furthermore, the antioxidant properties of 1–3 complexes compared with free ligand were revealed. Additionally, antimicrobial and antifungal activity was tested.
