Development of phase change material for thermal management of lithium-ion batteries: a review
摘要
The electrochemical performance and safety of lithium-ion batteries are highly dependent on operating temperature. To maintain an optimal temperature range, an effective battery thermal management system is essential. Phase change materials (PCM) offer a cost-effective, simple structure, and efficient solution for cooling. Despite these benefits, challenges such as low thermal conductivity, potential leakage, limited flexibility, and flammability have hindered their widespread adoption. This article delves into various strategies to enhance the thermal conductivity, leak prevention, flexibility, and flame retardancy of PCM, analyzing their mechanisms and impact on PCM performance. It also identifies the current limitations in research and suggests future directions, proposing innovative ideas and potential improvements. This work aims to provide valuable insights for researchers in the field.
