Investigation of the performance of a heat pipe using various configurations and innovation designs: a review
摘要
The advanced configurations, innovative designs, operational principles, and hybrid technologies of heat pipes are reviewed in this paper. Advanced designs, including innovative wick structures and nanostructured surfaces, are examined for their potential to enhance thermal efficiency. The research has been done to develop new configurations, such as porous and grooved wick structures, for the performance improvement of heat pipes in high-heat-flux and limited-space applications. The key findings emphasize the importance of specific geometries and high-tech techniques like surface coatings, giving the audience a deeper understanding of the factors influencing heat pipe performance. According to the research, nanofluids are vital because they significantly enhance thermal performance, depending on the kind and concentration of nanoparticles. The study focuses on how various nanofluids improve the thermal performance of heat pipes. Furthermore, the paper looks at how heat pipes might be integrated with other technologies like phase change materials and nanoengineered surfaces to improve performance further. Notable innovations include using nanowires, which have significantly reduced the thermal resistance. Significant gains in heat transfer efficiency and thermal resistance reduction have been achieved by incorporating materials and innovative system designs. Future research prospects include developing novel working fluids and advanced manufacturing processes, such as 3D printing, to improve heat pipe designs and expand their use in sustainable energy solutions. This comprehensive review highlights the key role of heat pipes in addressing global energy challenges and their potential to foster innovation and efficiency in thermal management systems.
