Accelerated thermal decomposition of 3,4-dinitrofurazanfuroxan by amino-containing nitrogen-rich compounds based on microcalorimetry

The thermal decomposition of 3,4-dinitrofurazanfuroxan (DNTF), which is widely used as a low-melting-point compound, is essential to be studied. Microcalorimeters have high sensitivity and can control the rate of temperature increase to a low level. Therefore, the instrument was used to study the thermal decomposition of DNTF with five amino nitrogen-rich compounds, and it was found that the thermal decomposition of the hybrid systems was accelerated significantly. The thermodynamic and thermal safety parameters of the thermal decomposition reaction of the sample were deduced, proving that the DNTF hybrid systems were significantly lower than those of DNTF, and a certain danger existed. The residual phase of DNTF/3,4-diaminofurazan (DAF) in the decomposition process was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR) and high-performance liquid chromatography, and the results displayed a mutual promotion between DNTF and DAF, which promoted the thermal decomposition of DNTF.
