摘要

In this paper, the thermal and hydraulic performances of a three-dimensional (3D) microchannel heat sink (MCHS) with different geometrical parameters of diamond-shaped ribs in transverse microchambers are numerically investigated. First, the results of the present numerical model are validated by comparing them with a related work. The results of the comparison show a good agreement between the present work and the previous experimental and numerical work. Then, various geometrical and operating parameters affecting the thermal and hydraulic performances of the MCHS, such as rib aspect ratio, rib height, rib scale, number of ribs, microchamber length, and Reynolds number, are investigated. The dimensionless ratios of the average Nusselt number, friction factor, and thermal enhancement factor are evaluated. The results showed that, firstly, in all cases, the microchannel containing ribs has a better performance than the straight microchannel. In addition, for a wide range of Reynolds numbers, the MCHS with a rib aspect ratio of 1, a rib height of 120 µm, a rib number of 2, a rib scale larger than 150 µm, and a microchamber length of 1300 µm has the most efficient thermal enhancement factor.
