摘要

Improving the photocatalytic properties of materials to reduce industrial wastewater is an interesting topic that needs to be further addressed by researchers. In the current study, we developed a new composite to improve the photodegradation rate of methylene blue (MB) during the photocatalytic process. For this aim, MoS2 nanoparticles were loaded over chitosan/rGO. The prepared nanocomposites were investigated with XRD, RAMAN, FESEM, TEM, and UV-Vis to identify the origins of photocatalytic improvements. FESEM findings indicate that chitosan-MoS2/rGO nanocomposite has a homogenous morphology similar to neat MoS2 with a lower charge recombination rate, suggesting significant photocatalytic efficiency for MB degradation by exposure to simulated sunlight. The chitosan-MoS2/rGO nanocomposite degraded the MB dyes with an efficiency of 93% due to its improved charge transfer mechanism along with increased surface area.
