Elemental characterization of argan kernels from different regions of Souss Massa Draa (Morocco) using instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA)
摘要
This study assesses the chemical composition of argan (Argania spinosa) kernels from the Souss Massa Drâa region, Morocco. Using neutron activation analysis (NAA) with the k0-standardization method, major and trace elements were quantified non-destructively with high sensitivity. Data reliability was ensured by parallel analysis of certified reference material (NIST 1547 Peach Leaves). Significant geographic variation in elemental profiles was observed, suggesting the influence of local soil, climate, and agricultural practices. These results may help in the assessment of argan kernel quality and authenticity, supporting regional valorization, consumer safety, and sustainable management of this vital Moroccan resource.
