<p>Seaweeds belong to a group of products that are relatively often treated with ionizing radiation for preservation purposes. The aim of this study was to investigate whether it is possible to detect irradiation of seaweeds by a thermoluminescence method. Six types of seaweed were selected for the study: cut dried wakame, cut dried kombu, spirulina tablets, laminaria tablets, spirulina extract powder and fucus extract powder. The thermoluminescence method proved effective for this purpose.</p>
