<p>Long-term deposition data (1987–1994) from Romania were used to estimate the average environmental removal rate from the atmosphere, primarily for <sup>137</sup>Cs, but also for <sup>106</sup>Ru, <sup>125</sup>Sb, <sup>134</sup>Cs, and <sup>144</sup>Ce. The results show that the average environmental removal rates of the above-mentioned radionuclides are, to a first approximation, comparable, and the parameters obtained are in close agreement with values reported elsewhere. A comparison between the simple exponential model and the power-law model indicates that the exponential model is more suitable for shorter periods, whereas the power-law model provides a better fit over longer timescales.</p>
