Measurement of the thermal neutron capture cross section and resonance integral of the 64Ni(n,γ)65Ni reaction using an electron LINAC based neutron source

The thermal neutron capture cross section and resonance integral of the 64Ni(n,γ)65Ni reaction, relative to the corresponding values of the 197Au(n,γ)198Au reaction, were experimentally determined based on the activation method using an accelerator based neutron source. The γ-ray spectra emitted by the radioactive isotopes formed after irradiation were recorded using a HPGe gamma spectrometer. The values obtained are 1856.97 ± 45.68 mb for the thermal neutron capture cross section and 884.54 ± 33.68 mb for the resonance integral. Our obtained values were compared with corresponding values reported by other research groups in the literature to date.
