Potentiometric studies on the complexation of La(III), Sm(III), Th(IV), and U(VI)O2 by some phenolic acids
摘要
This study explores the complexation of caffeic and cinnamic acids with La(III), Sm(III), Th(IV), and U(VI)O2 ions, given the biological and nuclear relevance of f-block elements. Stability constants were determined via pH titration at 25 °C, 37 °C, and 45 °C in KCl medium, using HySS and HYPERQUAD2013 software. Thermodynamic parameters were calculated to assess metal–ligand interactions. Additionally, cytotoxicity of the resulting complexes was evaluated on MCF-7 and A-549 cell lines using the WST assay, highlighting their potential antitumor properties. This work contributes to understanding f-block complexation with phenolic acids.
