<p>This study evaluates uranium concentrations in groundwater from Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan, India. Uranium activity ranged from 0.01 to 9.7&#xa0;Bq L<sup>−1</sup> pre-monsoon and 0.003 to 7.5&#xa0;Bq L<sup>−1</sup> post-monsoon. Chemical and radiological risks were assessed using hazard quotient, lifetime average daily dose, and excess cancer risk across age groups. At some sites, ingestion doses exceeded the WHO guidance value of 100 μSv year<sup>−1</sup>, and hazard quotients surpassed unity, indicating potential chemical toxicity. However, lifetime cancer risk and annual effective dose remained below thresholds limits. Spatial and seasonal variability highlight localized health risks, emphasizing the need for regular monitoring and targeted water safety management.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
