Efficient removal of uranium from aqueous solutions using a layered ternary Fe/Ba/Mg metal hydroxide
摘要
A layered ternary Fe/Ba/Mg metal hydroxide was prepared via the co-precipitation method to remove U(VI) from aqueous solutions. The Fe/Ba/Mg composite was characterized using various methods, and its U(VI) removal performance was investigated in aqueous solutions. The ternary Fe/Ba/Mg metal hydroxide exhibited a U(VI) removal capacity of 436.68 mg·g−1. The presence of other coexisting ions negligibly affected the U(VI) removal capacity. The adsorption of U(VI) by the Fe/Ba/Mg composite was a spontaneous and endothermic process. This study demonstrates the good application prospects of the ternary Fe/Ba/Mg metal hydroxide in the treatment of uranium-containing wastewater.
