<p>This study evaluates radon concentration in 50 drinking water samples from Rupnagar, Punjab, using the SMART RnDuo technique which has a minimum detection limit of 8&#xa0;Bqm<sup>−3</sup>. Radon levels ranged from 0.89 ± 0.10 to 16.57 ± 1.08&#xa0;BqL<sup>−1</sup>, averaging 6.73 ± 0.54&#xa0;BqL<sup>−1</sup>, all within UNSCEAR (Sources and effects of ionizing radiation: UNSCEAR report to the general assembly with scientific annexes, United Nations, 2008) limits of 4–40&#xa0;BqL<sup>−1</sup>. A comparison with RAD7 for 20 samples showed a Pearson’s correlation coefficient of 0.86. The Annual Committed Effective Dose was calculated for different age groups via ingestion and inhalation pathways. Results indicate radon concentrations pose negligible health risks, affirming the safety of the region’s drinking water.</p>
