<p>Textural, mineralogical, and radio elemental properties of the Jadukata and Chalti river sediments of northeastern Bangladesh were characterized to infer their depositional environment, distribution and mineralogical composition of heavy mineral, and paleo-oxidation condition. The studied samples were coarse to fine grained and moderately well sorted to poorly sorted, deposited in riverine environments hosting uranium. Average heavy mineral concentration was 3.28% and 14.35% in Jadukata and Chalti river respectively, and predominantly comprised of garnet, zircon, kyanite, epidote, pyroxene, magnetite, hornblende, rutile, and chlorite. The average <sup>226</sup>Ra (<sup>238</sup>U) (6.82 and 7.71&#xa0;ppm) and <sup>232</sup>Th (13.23 and 15.33&#xa0;ppm) concentrations for Jadukata and Chalti river samples exceeded the Upper Continental Crust (UCC) value. Elemental eU/eTh and eTh/eU ratios described an oxic depositional environment, as well as uranium enrichment over crust composition.</p>
