摘要

Wheat is a vital staple grain for humans and it plays a crucial role in the nutritional cycle of human beings. In this view, the analysis of 15 wheat grain samples and 31 soil samples for natural radionuclides was conducted using a thallium-activated sodium iodide detector (Atomtex). The hazard indices for both wheat and soil are below 1, indicating a no risk to the general population. The average transfer factors for 226Ra, 232Th and 40K from soil to wheat flour were 0.59, 0.81 and 1.52, respectively which are higher than acceptable limits of IAEA.
