<p>This study aimed to evaluate the absorption and translocation of <sup>14</sup>C-glyphosate in <i>Machaerium hirtum</i> at 3, 24, and 72&#xa0;h after application (HAA) of a radiolabeled solution containing <sup>14</sup>C-glyphosate and a commercial product at a dose of 0.72&#xa0;kg a.e. ha⁻<sup>1</sup>, applied to the adaxial surface of a leaf (3299.82&#xa0;Bq/plant). Absorption at 3, 24, and 72 HAA was 0.57, 5.84, and 4.29%, respectively. Translocation was higher at 72 HAA (0.37%), which compromises the effectiveness of chemical control. Therefore, absorption and translocation are low. This is the first report on the use of a non-selective and broad-spectrum herbicide as an alternative for the chemical control of this species.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
