<p>When using the AlphaGUARD PQ2000PRO to measure the radon exhalation rate from soil, its high sensitivity to thoron can lead to an overestimation of the radon level. To address this issue, a simple improvement was made to the AlphaGUARD PQ2000PRO in this study. A comparative experiment was conducted using the RAD7. The radon exhalation rate measured by the improved AlphaGUARD PQ2000PRO is in good agreement with the RAD7 exhalation rate within one standard deviation. The results show that this simple improvement effectively reduces interference from thoron, thus improving the accuracy of the AlphaGUARD PQ2000PRO in soil radon exhalation rate measurements.</p>
