Analysis of uranium and radon concentration in water of north-west Punjab, India
摘要
The uranium (238U) and radon (222Rn) concentrations have been assessed in drinking water samples from north-west Punjab, India. LED Fluorimetry technique is used for the measurement of uranium and degassing technique with scintillation based radon monitor (SRM) is used for radon measurements. The 238U and 222Rn concentration values in water are found in the range of 1.2 ± 0.3–59.32 ± 2.9 µgl−1 and 0.75 ± 0.08–7.25 ± 0.52 Bql−1 respectively. The uranium and radon values in present study mostly lies within the safe limit and the calculated annual dose values are also below the prescribed dose limit of 100 µSvy−1.
