Rock heat production and its contribution to terrestrial heat flow in the Northern Songliao Basin, Northeast China
摘要
The heat production rates of different rocks in the northern Songliao Basin were analyzed by measuring the contents of radioactive heat-producing elements (i.e., U, Th, and K) in the rock samples. U. Th and K have different heat generation contributions, with the contribution of U being greater than those of Th and K. The average heat production rate of sedimentary layers in the northern Songliao Basin was observed to be 1.54–1.91 μW/m3. Finally, this study developed a heat production column for the sedimentary layers in the northern Songliao Basin, which provided essential parameters for investigating the lithospheric thermal structure of this area.
