<p>The study uses the resource-based view theory to examine how differentiation is caused in the performance of the technology business incubators (TBIs) by adding entrepreneurial skills to the incubator’s services and facilities in the designed model. The study uses data from 25 Indian TBIs. Data were collected from 100 respondents – managerial staff of the incubators (41) and incubatees (59), via a structured questionnaire on a 5-point Likert Scale for the following constructs: services, facilities, entrepreneurial skills, and TBIs’ performance. Data were analysed using Exploratory Factor Analysis and Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling. The results indicate an enhancement in the model’s explanatory power, with entrepreneurial skills emerging as the most significant predictor of the TBI’s Success. Services transpire as the next significant predictor, reflecting the pre-eminence of intangible resources over tangible ones. In addition, various sub-dimensions also transpire as the strongest predictors of their respective constructs – persuasive skills in entrepreneurial skills, information dissemination in services, state-of-the-art facilities in facilities, and stakeholder outlook in TBI performance. Following the findings, policy-makers can align related policies and frameworks towards skills building and upgradation. The results will induce the government authorities to increase their capital expenditure on building state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities. Incubation managers must focus on building incubatees’ persuasiveness and conflict resolution skills. After self-assessment, incubatees can demand better delivery of incubation resources from the incubator authorities.</p>
