<p>We consider a problem of smooth contact of an elastic strip with a rigid base under the action of a normal concentrated force. The dead weight of the strip and the fact of formation of two zones of its separation from the base are taken into account. The analytic solution of the problem is obtained by the Wiener– Hopf method. The lowest level of external forces required for the formation of the zones of separation is found. The size and location of the zones of separation, as well as the distributions of contact stresses and normal displacements of the strip faces are determined.</p>
