Existence and Uniqueness of a Generalized Solution to the Initial-Boundary Value Problem Describing Oscillations of Hybrid System Consisting of Elastic Rod with Attached Rigid Body

We consider the initial-boundary value problem describing oscillations of a mechanical hybrid system consisting of an elastic rod and an attached rigid body. We establish the uniqueness of a generalized solution. Based on the Galerkin method, we prove the existence and uniqueness of approximate solutions and derive a priori estimates. Then we prove the weak convergence of approximate solutions to the sought solution.
